Sergiovanni Dominant; AC Falls 8-1 to #18 Trinity
Competitive 9-8 (9-7) doubles match completes sweep of ‘Roos, but Sergiovanni prevents sweep early
SAN ANTONIO, Tex. - After a monumental victory over a nationally-ranked opponent, the Kangaroos fell 8-1 at the hands of the #18 Trinity University Tigers.
The score would prove to be more lopsided than the competition as Melody Duong/Grace Ortiz would force a 9-7 tiebreaker with several match point opportunities that would finish for Trinity.
The Tigers would cement the victory through the first four singles matches, but Anna Sergiovanni would prevent the sweep early with a 6-0, 6-1 win at line 3.
Austin College plays the first match of a road double-header tomorrow, 3/23 in Belton, Texas against the University of Mary-Hardin Baylor. First serve is set for 10:00AM.
