CONWAY, Ark. - A gorgeous day in central Arkansas was the footnote to a decisive 8-1 victory for the Austin College Women's Tennis Team over the University of the Ozarks. But the Eagles would bring the fight to the Kangaroos during doubles, getting up early on all three courts.
Weber and Ortiz would find themselves still down after falling to Hendrix earlier in the day; down as much as 2-5 in their 8-game pro set. They would eventually find their stride as their aggressive gameplan came together in the form of 6 straight successful games and an 8-5 victory.
Barber and Kheveli would cruise to an 8-1 victory at Line 3 doubles and White/Lide finally agreed on the score of the match with their opponents before rattling off an 8-3 victory at Line 2.
Meghan White would be the only 'Roos player not able to finish her match, as she would retire after the first three games of the first set due to injury. All of White's teammates would have no problem in their matches as no Kangaroo would lose more than 3 games to an Eagle.
Austin College returns to the courts after Spring Break with a road trip to the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor on Saturday, March 19th at 11:00am.
