Lady 'Roos Down Ladies 9-0
AC dominates in regular season finale; Take six-match win streak into SCAC Tournament Friday, 4/24
SHREVEPORT, LA – The Lady Kangaroos from Austin College continued their winning ways and picked up a coveted conference victory in the process.
The AC Women's Netters travelled to Centenary College in their last weekend of competition prior to conference championships and put on a performance as strong as any this year.
Doubles started out strong for the 'Roos as Carlye Lide/Katie Barber downed their opponents on third doubles 8-0. Soon to follow were Meghan White/Grace Ortiz on Line 1, winning 8-3, and Kate Willis/Magan Green winning 8-2 on Court 2.
The momentum carried into singles for Austin College as three women's tennis players notched "double-bagels" on lines 4-6. Willis and Ortiz dropped only 1 game in their matches on lines 2 and 3, and Meghan White fought off a strong second-set surge from her opponent, taking the match 6-1, 6-3.
Women's Tennis closes out their season on a six-match win streak and 8-4 overall going into the SCAC Tournament. Play begins on Friday, April 24th in Georgetown, TX.
