Women's Tennis Has Strong Showing at ITA Regionals
The Austin College women's tennis team had a tremendous weekend at the ITA Regional Championships hosted by UT-Tyler over the weekend, including a "B" Draw Doubles title for Cierra White and Kate Willis.
The Austin College women's tennis team had a tremendous weekend at the ITA Regional Championships hosted by UT-Tyler over the weekend, including a "B" Draw Doubles title for Cierra White and Kate Willis.
White and Willis earned four victories on their way to bringing home the championship, finishing with an 8-3 win over a duo from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. White also won the "B" Draw Singles Consolation bracket with a 6-3, 7-5 victory in the title match.
Willis reached the semifinals of the "B" Draw Singles bracket before bowing out, and Sophie McDonald had an outstanding run of her own as she took home the championship in the "A" Draw Singles Consolation bracket, winning 2-6, 6-2, 10-4 in the final match.
