SHERMAN, Texas - Austin College women's swimmers Sammi Thiele, Jordan Armstrong, Cassidee Levine, and Lola Barcus-Schafer have been selected as Academic All-District picks for their outstanding performances both athletically and academically during the 2023-24 season.

Thiele, a senior from Keller, was named Academic All-District on the strength of a 3.93 grade-point-average with a major in English, in addition to earning three All-America accolades and winning two golds at the SCAC Championships this season.

Armstrong, a sophomore from Lufkin, earned her Academic All-District honors thanks to a grade-point-average of 3.62, with a major in political science.

Levine, a sophomore from Richmond, was named to the Academic All-District Team after coming into the spring semester with a grade-point-average of 3.89, with a major in psychology.

Barcus-Schafer, a sophomore from Tulsa, Okla., rounds out Austin College's Academic All-District selections thanks to a grade-point-average of 3.70, and is undecided in regard to her major.

The 2023-24 Academic All-District Women's Swimming & Diving Team, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in the pool and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
 
Academic All-District honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. First-, second and third-team Women's Academic All-America honorees will be announced April 23. The CSC Academic All-District teams include the student-athletes listed at the links above.
 
The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2022-23 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs.
