Thiele and Chanin Earn All-SCAC on Day Two of SCAC Meet

GARLAND, Texas - Austin College women's swimmers Sammi Thiele and Liberty Chanin each earned All-Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference accolades on day two of the conference championship meet on Thursday, with Thiele finishing second in the 200 individual medley and Chanin taking third in the 500 freestyle.

Through the first two days of the SCAC Championship, the women are currently in fourth place and the men are in sixth. Both the men's and women's teams earned fourth place finishes in the 200 free relay to open up day two's events, with the women's team of Thiele, Chanin, Lauren Olivier, and Abbi Reece coming in with a time of 1:41.24 while the men's quartet of Alex Lai, JonAustin Blaine, Jonas Eaton, and Sean Cookson finishing with a time of 1:30.43.

Chanin brought home a bronze in the 500 freestyle relay with a time of 5:13.29 in the next event, and Thiele broke her own Austin College women's record in her silver medal finish in the 200 IM with a time of 2:07.33.
