SHERMAN, Texas - The Austin College men's and women's swimming and diving teams swam well but came up short against conference rival Southwestern University on Friday evening in Hannah Natatorium. The men fell by a score of 142-81, while the women lost 150-64.
Ethan Nguyen had another record-setting performance in the 100 breaststroke for the men, breaking the program record for the second straight meet. Nguyen finished first in the event with a time of 58.51, and added a first place finish in the 50 freestyle with a time of 22.24, as well as the 100 butterfly with a time of 53.47. Max Saenz added a first place finish in the 100 backstroke, coming in with a time of 57.78, and Colton Baker gave the 'Roos first place points in the 3-meter diving event and Stephen Estraca added first place points in 1-meter diving.
Liberty Chanin had a pair of first place finishes on the women's side, touching in a time of 11.14.62 in the 1000 freestyle and 5:35.21 in the 500 free. Chloe Hunt was first in the 100 freestyle with a time of 58.46, and added a second place finish in the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:20.84.
