Big Win for Women's Swimming to Kick Off 2016-17

The Austin College women's swimming and diving team opened the 2016-2017 campaign with a big victory over McMurry University, outscoring the Warhawks 128-86 on Friday evening in Abilene. 

Among the top performers for the 'Roos were Sophie Garriga, who won the 200 free in her first collegiate meet, coming in with a time of 2:08.98, and also won the 100 fly with a time of 1:04.88. Margaux McCartney, Katherine Tuttle, and Sarah Bates dominated each of the diving events, placing first, second, and third in both the 1-meter and 3-meter dives.

Sarah Edzards took first in the 500 free, finishing with a time of 6:16.37, and the team of Garriga, Edzards, Caitlyn Brugger, and Tianna Anderson placed first in the 200 free relay with a time of 1:53.98.
