'Roo Women's Soccer Topped by CTX

AUSTIN, Texas - The Austin College women's soccer team fell 2-0 on the road at Concordia University on Friday afternoon, bringing the 'Roos to 9-4-2 overall and 3-4 in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play this season.

AUSTIN, Texas - The Austin College women's soccer team fell 2-0 on the road at Concordia University on Friday afternoon, bringing the 'Roos to 9-4-2 overall and 3-4 in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play this season.

Concordia tallied once in each half and managed to shut down Austin College's offense, holding the 'Roos to four shot attempts - two in each half - while the Tornados had 20 shot attempts, including 13 after halftime. The game was scoreless until the 41st minute, when Kallie Krenz found the back of the net to put Concordia on top 1-0  with what would prove to be the game winner. 

The Tornados added their second goal in the 65th minute, this time off the foot of Alexandria Smithwick to make it 2-0 and that's all the cushion Concordia ended up needing. Kenedie Lane made five saves in goal for the 'Roos, while Lora Tresco stopped the only shot she faced to earn a clean sheet for Concordia. Austin College will look to rebound on Sunday when they head to Abilene to take on McMurry.
