CLARKSVILLE, Ark. - The Austin College women's soccer team capped off its weekend with its second Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference win, topping the University of the Ozarks 3-2 on Sunday afternoon in a conference road match. The 'Roos are now 8-2-2 overall and 2-2 in SCAC play.

CLARKSVILLE, Ark. - The Austin College women's soccer team capped off its weekend with its second Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference win, topping the University of the Ozarks 3-2 on Sunday afternoon in a conference road match. The 'Roos are now 8-2-2 overall and 2-2 in SCAC play.

Austin College didn't take long to get on the scoreboard, as Jetta Broquard tallied just over two minutes into the match to make it 1-0. That remained the score until the 42nd minute of action, when Samantha Reynolds found the back of the net to make it 2-0 heading into the break. The 'Roos controlled the action throughout the opening half, out-shooting the Eagles 8-to-2, putting six of their eight shots on target.

The Eagles cut the deficit in half at the 60:03 mark in the second half, with Alyssa Rivers scoring, but the 'Roos got that goal back two minutes later when Rylie Balderas notched her second goal of the season to push the Austin College lead to 3-1. The Eagles tacked on one more goal to cut it to 3-2 in the 88th minute, with Taliana Schmidt putting a shot into the cage, but Austin College held on in the closing minutes to earn the victory. Austin College finished the match with a 14-to-5 advantage in shots, including 9-to-5 in shots on goal. Amanda Zyla had three saves for the 'Roos, while Melanie Glossup had six stops for the Eagles.
