McCreary Named SCAC Defensive Player of the Week

SUWANEE, Ga. - Austin College defender Bailey McCreary has been named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week for her outstanding play in a road win over Lyon, the league office has announced.

McCreary, a freshman from Little Elm, was outstanding in Austin College's lone game last week, a 2-0, shutout victory at Lyon. McCreary anchored the defense that allowed a season low one shot and earned its seventh clean sheet in eight games, while also scoring the game-winner - her first collegiate goal. The 'Roos seven clean sheets to date are the most in a single season for Austin College since they recorded eight during the 2014 season. McCreary and the 'Roos are off to their best start in program history and their current unbeaten streak of eight games is the longest such streak since AC joined the SCAC prior to the 2006 season.
