Austin College broke through early to take a 1-0 lead in the seventh minute of action, as Rylie Balderas fed a ball through the defense to a streaking Jetta Broquard, who carried it into the box and put a shot home for her third goal of the season. The assist for Balderas was here SCAC-leading fifth helper on the year. That ended up being the lone tally of the opening half, as Austin College held an 8-to-3 shot advantage, including putting four shots on target in the first 45 minutes of action.
The 'Roos got an insurance goal early in the second half, with Hannah Oberbeck corralling a deflected shot by Broquard and punching it home in the 53rd minute to make it 2-0, and that wound up being more than enough for Austin College to secure the win. The 'Roos finished the match with an overall shot advantage of 19-to-7, including 9-to-4 in shots on goal. Amanda Zyla earned her second clean sheet of the season, making four saves, while Wiley's Destiny Allison had seven stops for the Wildcats.
Austin College is back in action on Sunday, when they play host to Hendrix College at 11:00 a.m.
