Austin College got the only tally the team would end up needing in the 12th minute, when Rylie Balderas threaded a ball through two defenders to Emeri Watson, who buried it in the back of the net from 10 yards out to make it a 1-0 game. The 'Roos maintained control throughout the rest of the opening half, holding an 8-to-2 shot advantage, including putting three on target. Austin College continued to hold possession for most of the second half, getting several good scoring chances, including multiple late efforts off the foot of Myles McGaha, but the 'Roos were unable to get an insurance goal.
However, the Austin College defense and goalkeeper Kenedie Lane managed to keep the Majors at bay down the stretch, and the 'Roos held an 11-to-3 shot advantage after halftime. Lane made two saves to earn her third clean sheet of the season, and the team's fourth shutout overall. Emily Lozano made six stops for Millsaps. The 'Roos are back in action at home on Thursday, when they host Wiley at 6:00 p.m.
