SUWANEE, Ga. - Austin College's Kenedie Lane has been named the SCAC Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for games played through Monday, September 4, the league office has announced.

After leading the SCAC in saves last season, Lane, a junior goalkeeper from Frisco, picked up right where she left off with a double-digit save performance in the 'Roos' season opening fixture against LeTourneau. Lane stopped all 10 shots she faced to earn the clean sheet, despite the Jackets holding an 18-8 shot advantage in a 0-0 stalemate. Lane also picked up a win in the team's 3-1 victory over Dallas Christian, making three saves while playing the full 90. Lane's effort against LeTourneau marked her ninth career performance in which she registered 10 or more saves in a single contest and her second career shutout.
