SHERMAN, Texas - For the first time in Austin College history, the 'Roos played soccer at Jerry Apple Stadium, and the women's soccer team made the inaugural match on the newly renovated surface a memorable one with a 2-0 victory over Centenary College.

Playing through a driving rain, Austin College scored once in each half to give first year head coach Kevin Gregory his first career victory with the 'Roos. Brittany Hutton scored both goals for Austin College, getting what would prove to be the game-winner at the 16:04 mark off of an assist from Giselle Melendez. The 'Roos would go on to take a 1-0 lead into halftime, despite Centenary holding a 9-5 advantage in shot attempts. Kenedie Lane stopped all five first half shots she faced.

Hutton would find the net again early in the second half to double Austin College's lead, this time from an assist by Priscilla Garcia in the 47th minute. That would prove to be all Austin College would need, as Lane earned the clean sheet in goal with nine saves in the match. Centenary finished with a 17-9 edge in shot attempts, but a strong defensive performance from the 'Roos kept them off the board.
