'Roos Suffer Narrow Defeat at Schreiner

KERRVILLE, Texas - The Austin College women's soccer team was narrowly defeated in a road match at Schreiner University on Sunday, falling 1-0 to the Mountaineers in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play. The 'Roos are now 0-12-1- overall and 0-10 in conference competition.

Kenedie Lane continued her strong season in goal, stopping 10 of the 11 shots she faced and moving up to third in the SCAC in save percentage in the process, but Schreiner broke through at just after the 35 minute mark with a goal from Caroline Quiroga to make it 1-0 heading into halftime. That would wind up being the only tally Schreiner needed in the match, as the Mountaineers managed to keep the 'Roos off of the scoreboard in the second half.

Schreiner out-shot the 'Roos 19-5 in the match, inning six corner kicks to one for Austin College. With her 10 saves, Lane extended her SCAC-leading total to 84. Audrey Rivera made one save for Schreiner in the game.
