'Roos Fall to No. 7 Trinity

SHERMAN, Texas - After limiting No. 7-ranked Trinity to a single first half goal, the Austin College women's soccer team surrendered seven tallies after halftime in an 8-0 loss to the unbeaten Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference leaders on Friday evening.

Austin College put together a strong defensive effort in the opening 45 minutes of play, with the Tigers getting a goal in the 29th minute of action from Molly Sheridan but being turned away for the rest of the half. Kenedie Lane made eight saves in the first half, while the Tigers attempted 21 shots and put nine on target.

The Tigers came out on the offensive in the second half, scoring four goals in the first 20 minutes out of the break, including two goals in the 58th minute, a tally in the 64th minute, and one more in the 66th to make it a 5-0 game. Trinity would tack on three more before the final horn, getting goals in the 75th, 77th, and 79th minutes to make it an 8-0 final. The Tigers finished the game with a 52-to-1 shot advantage, putting 25 attempts on target. Lane had eight saves and Heaven Barber made nine stops for Austin College in the loss.
