Women's Soccer Draws with Howard Payne

SHERMAN, Texas - The Austin College women's soccer team earned a 2-2 draw against Howard Payne on Tuesday evening at the Dr. Jack Pierce Memorial Soccer Complex, bringing the team's record to 0-2-1 overall on the year.

Priscilla Garcia tallied both goals for Austin College, with those scores being the first of her collegiate career. Garcia found the net for the first time in the 20th minute of action, sending the 'Roos into halftime with a 1-0 lead despite a 15-to-3 shot advantage in the opening half for the Jackets. Howard Payne would square things up in the 70th minute, but Garcia broke through on a breakaway less than five minutes later and beat the HPU keeper for her second goal to make it a 2-1 advantage.

However, the Jackets would once again equalize four minutes later to make it 2-2, and that's how things would finish after 90 minutes of action. Howard Payne finished with a 36-to-5 edge in shot attempts, including 15-to-2 in shots on goal. Heaven Barber made 13 saves for Austin College in the draw.
