'Roo Women Come Up Short at Texas Lutheran

SEGUIN, Texas - The Austin College women's soccer team found themselves in a 3-0 halftime hole before nearly clawing all the way back, but the 'Roos came up short in a 3-2 loss on Sunday afternoon against Texas Lutheran. The 'Roos are now 1-11-1 overall and 0-4-1 in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play.

Monique Sierra scored twice in the early going to put Texas Lutheran on top, talling in the 5th minute and adding another score in the 19th. The Bulldogs would add another goal a minute and a half later to make it 3-0, and that's how things would stand heading into halftime. TLU held a 14-5 shot advantage in the first half, and would finish the match with a 25-11 edge in that category.

However, the 'Roos got two goals from Chloe Towler in a two and a half minute span midway through the second half, with Towler finding the net at the 58:24 mark and scoring again on an assist from Caitlyn Hernandez at the 60:40 mark to cut it to a 3-2 game. The 'Roos would be unable to find the equalizer over the game's final 30 minutes, however, and that's how things would stand at the final whistle.

Kenedie Lane made six saves for Austin College, while Heaven Barber made three and Meredith Harris had two stops.
