'Roos Edged by UT-Dallas

RICHARDSON, Texas - The Austin College women's soccer team fell 2-1 on the road at the University of Texas-Dallas on Tuesday night, as the Comets tallied with under three minutes remaining to edge the 'Roos. Austin College is now 2-10-1 overall this season.

The Comets, who improved to 12-1-1, got on the board early to take a 1-0 lead in the fifth minute of action. However, the 'Roos clamped down defensively and managed to keep it a one goal game heading into halftime. Austin College quickly squared things up in the second half, as Lina Cruz tallied at the 48:39 mark to make it a 1-1 game. That remained the score until late as the 'Roos continued their strong defensive effort, but UTD's Stephanie Ward found the net in the 88th minute to take the lead and Austin College was unable to equalize.

Maya Erwin made 10 saves for Austin College, as the Comets held a 24-to-4 edge in shot attempts, including 13-to-3 in shots on goal. The 'Roos are back home on Thursday when they host Southwestern Assemblies of God University at 6:00 p.m.
