'Roo Women Fall to Mary Hardin-Baylor

BELTON, Texas - The Austin College women's soccer team suffered its first loss of the year at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor on Saturday night, falling 3-0 to a Crusaders program picked to finish second in the American Southwest Conference. The 'Roos are now 2-1 on the year.

The 'Roos battled with the Crusaders throughout the first half before UMHB was able to put a shot past Austin College keeper Maya Erwin in the 27th minute, and the Cru would sneak one more goal in with under three minutes to play in the opening half. Mary Hardin-Baylor dominated possession in the second half, firing 19 shots compared to just two for Austin College, but the 'Roo defense repeatedly turned the Crusaders away until a 78th minute tally to make it a 3-0 final.

Overall, Mary Hardin-Baylor owned a 25-to-5 shot advantage, with Erwin making 12 saves for Austin College.
