SHREVEPORT, La. - The Austin College women's soccer team saw the 2017 come to a close on Friday with a 3-0 loss to Texas Lutheran in the opening round of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference tournament. The 'Roos finish the year with an overall record of 4-14-1.

Texas Lutheran grabbed a quick early lead on a goal by Kennedy Jobe less than 10 minutes in, but the Austin College defense tightened up and that remained the score heading into the second half. However, the Bulldogs would tally again in the 68th minute, and add a third goal with just over a minute left to ice the game. Texas Lutheran held an 8-2 shot advantage in the first half but Austin College out-shot the Bulldogs 8-7 after the break.

Maya Erwin made seven saves for Austin College in the loss.
