'Roos Fall Late at Schreiner

The Austin College women's soccer team took an early 1-0 lead, but Schreiner battled back and scored the decisive goal in the 87th minute to top the 'Roos 2-1 on Sunday afternoon.

The Austin College women's soccer team took an early 1-0 lead, but Schreiner battled back and scored the decisive goal in the 87th minute to top the 'Roos 2-1 on Sunday afternoon. The 'Roos are now 3-11-1 overall and 1-8-1 in SCAC play.

Erin Eckart got the 'Roos on the board just moments into the game, taking a feed from Ashley Rice and scoring with only 86 seconds elapsed. The 'Roos would hold that 1-0 lead into halftime, before yielding the equalizer at the 59:20 mark. 

It looked like things were headed to overtime when Schreiner found the net again at the 86:15 mark, and Austin College was unable to answer in the game's closing minutes. Schreiner held an 11-5 edge in shots in what was a defensive struggle for most of the match. Laura McGee made four saves in net for Austin College.
