'Roo Women's Soccer Falls to UTD

The Austin College women's soccer team fell behind 2-0 at halftime and was unable to battle back, falling 3-1 at the University of Texas-Dallas on Wednesday evening. The 'Roos are now 2-7-1 overall on the year.

The Austin College women's soccer team fell behind 2-0 at halftime and was unable to battle back, falling 3-1 at the University of Texas-Dallas on Wednesday evening. The 'Roos are now 2-7-1 overall on the year.

The Comets found the net twice in rapid succession midway through the first half, scoring in the 28th minute and adding another tally at the 33 minute mark to head into halftime leading 2-0. The lead grew to 3-0 in the 70th minute, with the 'Roos finally getting on the board in the 86th minute when Sarah Battles scored her second goal of the year on an assist from Erin Eckart.

Laura McGee made 14 saves for Austin College, as the Comets held a 25-13 advantage in shots, including a 17-6 edge in shots on goal.
