No. 3 Trinity Too Much for 'Roo Women's Soccer

The Austin College women's soccer team fell 7-0 to No. 3-ranked Trinity University on Sunday afternoon as the Tigers used a 40-2 shot advantage to hand the 'Roos the loss. Austin College falls to 5-10-1 overall and 4-5-1 in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play with the loss. 

The Tigers got on the board quickly on an Emily Jorgens goal at the 3:59 mark, and eight minutes later Kelsey Falcone tallied to make it 2-0. Tara Sparks scored in the 19th minute, and Jordan Leeper found the net in the 34th minute to send Trinity into the half with a 4-0 edge on the 'Roos. 

Trinity again scored quickly coming out of the half, with Shelby Guenthardt tallying in the 49th minute to make it 5-0. Trinity would add another goal in the 54th minute and then get their seventh goal from their seventh player in the 68th minute to make it a 7-0 final margin. 

Emily Brockette made 10 saves in the net for Austin College, as Trinity put 17 shots on goal in the game against none for Austin College. 

Austin College athletic teams participate as a member of the NCAA Division III and the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.
