
Three From Women's Hoops Earn Academic All-District
SHERMAN, Texas - Austin College women's basketball players Grace Moothart, Lexi Martin, and Avory Miller have been selected as a College Sports Communicators Academic All-District picks for their outstanding performances both athletically and academically. This is the second year in a row Moothart has earned this recognition.
SHERMAN, Texas - Austin College women's basketball players Grace Moothart, Lexi Martin, and Avory Miller have been selected as a College Sports Communicators Academic All-District picks for their outstanding performances both athletically and academically. This is the second year in a row Moothart has earned this recognition.
Moothart, junior guard from Melissa, was named Academic All-District as a triple-major in business finance, sports management, and psychology, with a 3.98 grade-point-average. She also appeared in 23 games this season for the 'Roos, starting 13, and finished among the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference leaders in three point percentage.
Martin, a sophomore guard from Sanger, earned her Academic All-District recognition on the strength of a 4.0 grade-point-average with a biology on the pre-med track. Martin also started all 22 games in which she appeared this season, leading the team in scoring during the 2024-25 campaign.
Miller, a sophomore guard from McKinney, was named Academic All-District thanks to a 3.86 grade-point-average as a double-major in kinesiology and biology. She also started all 24 games this season for the 'Roos, finishing among the team leaders in rebounds and assists while also ending the season near the top of the SCAC leaderboard in steals.
The 2024-25 Academic All-District Women's Basketball teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America program separately recognizes men's basketball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2024-25 Divisions II and III Academic All-America programs. The NAIA CSC Academic All-America program is partially financially supported through the NAIA governance structure.
