Austin College got out to a hot start, taking an 8-2 lead in the opening quarter before St. Thomas countered with a 9-2 run to go on top 11-10 after the first. The Celts pushed the margin to 29-22 at halftime, but it was in the third quarter that UST began to put the game away. The Celts shot 61.5% from the field in the quarter, knocking down 3-of-7 threes while the 'Roos were 0-of-6 from long distance, leading to St. Thomas extending their lead to 52-35 heading into the fourth.
The 'Roos shot just 33.3% from the field and turned the ball over seven times in the fourth, as the Celts outscored Austin College 13-9 in the frame to make it a 65-44 final score. Raylee McDonald had a team-best nine points for Austin College, as the 'Roos shot 35.8% from the field and made just 3-of-19 three pointers in the game. Austin College also turned the ball over 22 times, compared to 11 for the Celts, who got a game-high 14 points from Audrey Hernandez. Brooklyn Matthews and Avory Miller each pulled down seven rebounds to lead the 'Roos.
