Ozarks Tops Women's Hoops
CLARKSVILLE, Ark. - The Austin College women's basketball team kept things close through three quarters at the University of the Ozarks, but the Eagles outscored the 'Roos 27-14 in the final frame in a 71-54 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference contest on Sunday. The 'Roos are now 6-5 overall and 2-1 in conference play.

The 'Roos are now 6-5 overall and 2-1 in conference play.
Ozarks was a perfect 21-of-21 from the free throw line while the 'Roos were 4-of-4 as a team, and those 17 points proved to be the difference in a game in which both teams made 22 field goals, including six three pointers each. Austin College shot just 32.8% from the field, however, while Ozarks knocked down 44.9%, and were 6-of-9 from three compared to 6-of-25 for the 'Roos. Trinity Williams was the lone Austin College player to reach double figures, making all four of her shot attempts, including three treys, to score 11 coming off of the bench.
Avory Miller chipped in nine points, six rebounds, and five assists, and Brooklyn Matthews had eight points and seven rebounds. Raylee McDonald came off the bench to score eight points, while Abby Beene led all scorers, scoring 22 to pace Ozarks. Naomi Smith added 21 points, 11 rebounds, and six assists for the Eagles. Austin College will look to get back in the win column on Tuesday when they head to Shreveport to take on Centenary in another SCAC showdown.
