Austin College trailed 17-13 after the opening quarter before trimming things to a 27-25 halftime margin. The 'Roos evened things up at 29-29 early in the third quarter, but LeTourneau scored 12 unanswered to surge ahead 41-29, and after a bucket by Avory Miller to end that streak, the Jackets scored five more quick points to push it to a 46-31 game midway through the period. LeTourneau pushed the margin to 54-35 with a minute left in the third, and the 'Roos found themselves trailing 54-36 heading into the fourth.
The Jackets took their largest lead of the game on a three from Future Asevedo to make it 63-42 with 6:41 left in the final period, and Austin College was unable to get the deficit back into single digits the rest of the way. Austin College shot just 30.2% from the field as a team, including 20% from deep on 6-of-30 shooting. The 'Roos also struggled from the free throw line, knocking down 9-of-20 attempts. LeTourneau was hot from beyond the three point line in the game, making 11-of-28 attempts. Lexi Martin and Miller each scored 17 as the only two 'Roos to reach double figures, with Miller adding 10 rebounds, five steals, and four assists, while Martin was 4-of-12 from long distance. Gracie Hunter led all scorers with 19 points for the Jackets.
Austin College is back in action on Friday when they host the University of Texas-Dallas at 1:00 p.m. in Hughey Gym.
