'Roo Women Fall at No. 18 HSU
ABILENE, Texas - The Austin College women's basketball team dropped a road game at No. 18-ranked Hardin Simmons on Saturday, as the Cowgirls defeated the 'Roos by a final score of 72-42. Austin College is now 4-2 overall on the season.

Hardin-Simmons took a 21-11 lead after the first quarter and extended the margin to 37-22 at halftime, and the Cowgirls outscored Austin College by 10 points in the third to push the deficit to 57-32 heading into the final frame. The 'Roos limited HSU to 33.3% shooting in the game, but the Cowgirls outscored Austin College 19-9 at the free throw line and knocked down seven threes, compared to a 3-for-16 performance from long range for the 'Roos. HSU also out-rebounded Austin College 53-37 in the game, and hounded the 'Roos into 21 turnovers while only giving the ball away eight times in the game.
Austin College finished the game hitting 15-of-49 shots, while Hardin-Simmons attempted 20 more field goals thanks to the differential in turnovers along with grabbing 20 offensive boards, compared to just five for the 'Roos. Those two margins led to a 19-6 advantage for HSU in points off of turnovers, as well as 16-5 in second chance points. Hardin-Simmons also got 31 bench points to 10 for Austin College. Raylee McDonald was the lone 'Roo in double digits, scoring 10 points on 5-of-11 shooting, and Avory Miller had six points and nine rebounds. Maya Dodson chipped in seven rebounds and Trinity Williams scored eight points, hitting 2-of-6 from long distance. Jacqueline Berry led all scorers with 15 points while adding six rebounds and five steals for the Cowgirls.
