'Roo Women's Hoops Has Four Earn All-SCAC

SHREVEPORT, La. - Lauren Traylor was named third team All-Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference and Lexi Martin, Amarys Cuellar, and Brooklyn Matthews were each tabbed as honorable mention performers, while Martin was also an All-Freshman Team pick for their outstanding play during the 2023-24 season, the league office has announced.

Traylor, a senior forward from Fort Collins, Colo., helped lead the 'Roos to the SCAC Tournament during her final season after finishing second on the team with 9.2 points-per-game while also second in the league with 6.9 rebounds-per-game. Traylor also led the 'Roos with 2.7 assists and added 1.3 steals-per-game, and shot 76% from the free throw line.

Martin, a freshman guard from Sanger, led the 'Roos with 10.4 points-per-game and tied for the team lead with 47 made three pointers to earn honorable mention and All-Freshman accolades, and tied Traylor for the team lead with 1.3 steals-per-game. She also handed out 1.8 assists and grabbed 3.3 rebounds-per-game in her first season in Sherman. She also tied for second in the conference in Freshman of the Year voting.

Cuellar, a freshman guard from San Antonio, also earned honorable mention status after finishing the year third on the team with 7.8 points-per-game on 36.8% shooting, adding 4.7 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 0.9 blocks-per-game. During conference play, she raised her scoring average to 8.3 points-per-game.

Matthews, a sophomore center from Conroe, was an honorable mention pick after averaging 6.9 points-per-game on 46.7% shooting from the field, and finished second on the team with 6.3 rebounds-per-game. She also posted averages of 0.9 blocks and 0.8 blocks, and her rebounding average grew to a team-high 7.4-per-game during conference games.
