Austin College Cruises Past Wildcats

DENVER, Colo. - The No. 25-ranked Austin College women's basketball team put six players in double-digits and shot 53.6% from the field as a team as the 'Roos cruised to a 94-61 win over Johnson & Wales on Friday night. The 'Roos are now 10-2 overall and 3-0 in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play.

The 'Roos sprinted out to a 21-8 lead early on and never looked back, pushing the lead to as many as 36 points. No starters played more than 19 minutes for the 'Roos, and 12 players got into the scoring column for Austin College. Bryce Frank, Ally Longaker, and Ann Savage paced the 'Roos with 14 points apiece, while Kacie West chipped in 13 off the bench. Natalie McCoy and Andrea Selkow each scored 10, a career-best for both players. 

Austin College had 24 assists on their 37 made field goals, with Savage, Caitlyn Collins, and Addison Walling each leading the way with five. Savage and Collins also had three steals each, and Frank and McCoy both had five rebounds. Selkow and Reagan Chiaverini each pulled down a team-best six boards in the victory. The 'Roos limited Johnson & Wales to 32.2% shooting from the field and forced the Wildcats into 20 turnovers. Katey Guzman paced JWU with 21 points, 11 rebounds, and four assists.

The 'Roos will be looking to make it two in a row on Saturday as they take on Colorado College with tipoff set for 5:30 p.m. Mountain time.
