'Roos Pull Away for Win at Hendrix

CONWAY, Ark. - The Austin College women's basketball team used a strong fourth quarter to pull away from Hendrix for a 65-54 win on Sunday, wrapping up the four years of the SCAC/SAA Challenge with a perfect 8-0 record. The 'Roos are now 3-0 on the year.

After battling back and forth in the opening quarter, two buckets from Reagan Chiaverini gave the 'Roos some breathing room at 15-11 after one, and Austin College would take a 32-27 lead into halftime. Hendrix fought back and claimed a 35-34 lead early in the third quarter, but Bryce Frank scored six of the next eight points for the 'Roos as Austin College took the lead back, and Addison Walling's three made it 46-39. Hendrix would score four in a row to end the period and make it 46-43 entering the fourth quarter.

The Austin College lead swelled to double-digits thanks to a 7-0 run to open the quarter, capped by a triple from Caitlyn Collins. Once again, the Warriors would make a run of their own to cut it to a 56-53 game with 3:32 remaining. Kacie West's three sparked a 9-1 run to finish the game, however, and help secure the win for Austin College.

Frank scored 16 points on 6-of-9 shooting and pulled down nine rebounds, and Collins knocked down 3-of-5 threes on her way to 13 points. West chipped in 12, and Ann Savage had eight points, five rebounds, three assists, and two steals.
