Women's Hoops Shuts Down Texas Lutheran for Road Victory

SEGUIN, Texas - The Austin College women's basketball team limited Texas Lutheran to just 21.6% shooting and hounded the Bulldogs into 20 turnovers on their way to a 66-36 victory on Saturday night. The 'Roos are now 19-5 overall and 12-1 in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play.

Reagan Chiaverini came off the bench to score 17 points, just two shy of her career-best, and Bryce Frank added 16 points, 10 rebounds, and five assists. With their 19th win, the 'Roos have matched last season's win total with one regular season game left, as well as the SCAC Tournament in Colorado Springs. The 'Roos have also matched the program-best mark with 12 conference victories, set during the 2009-10 season when Austin College went 12-4. The team will be looking to set a new program-best on Saturday when they host Centenary at home to close out the regular season.

The 'Roos never trailed against TLU, getting three pointers from Ann Savage and Addison Walling to open the game and never looking back. Austin College got 29 bench points and scored 20 points off of turnovers, with Chiaverini hitting 7-of-11 shots overall and 3-of-6 from long distance. Walling finished with 12 points, seven rebounds, and three steals and Savage added nine points. Frank also added four steals to her stat-line.
