Austin College Women Fall to UT-Dallas

The Austin College women's basketball team fell 78-50 at the University of Texas-Dallas on Tuesday night in the season opener for the 'Roos.

The 'Roos found themselves trailing 50-19 at halftime and were never able to recover, as the hot-shooting Comets knocked down 12 three pointers in the game and hounded the 'Roos into 25 turnovers. UTD jumped out to a 28-10 lead after the first quarter, hitting 6-of-8 threes in the frame to jump out to its big early lead.

Austin College, meanwhile, hit just 4-of-20 threes in the game, with Kendra Rainey hitting 3-of-4 to pace the team in that category. Rainey finished with 17 points in her debut with the 'Roos, while Bryce Frank scored 14 points and grabbed eight rebounds. Sierra Force chipped in seven points in the loss.
