Austin College women's basketball player Chrissy Ray will be getting an up close look at the world of professional sports as she completes an internship with the Houston Texans this summer. Ray, a rising senior from The Woodlands, will be working for the team's marketing department as the Texans begin training camp next month.

"I'm honored and excited to have been selected by the Houston Texans for this amazing opportunity," said Ray. "I'm looking forward to this experience and hope to gain more insight on communications  from a sports marketing aspect."

Ray will be working with the team's event operations staff, focusing on the franchise's relationships with vendors and event execution. She will begin her internship on July 27 as the Texans open training camp for the 2015 season. A three-year letter winner for the Kangaroos, Ray is currently pursuing a degree in communications from Austin College.
