Women's Hoops Edges Emmanuel 55-54

The Austin College women's basketball team improved to 5-4 on the year with a 55-54 victory over Emmanuel (Mass.) on Wednesday in Key Largo, Florida.

The Austin College women's basketball team improved to 5-4 on the year with a 55-54 victory over Emmanuel (Mass.) on Wednesday in Key Largo, Florida. The 'Roos won the game at the charity stripe, where they made 21 free throws to just seven for Emmanuel.

Erin Riley scored 15 points to lead Austin College, hitting three of the team's four three pointers and sinking all four of her free throw attempts. Riley added six rebounds in the win. Christina Kime scored 14, hitting 5-of-6 shots from the field and 4-of-5 from the free throw line, and handed out three assists as the only other 'Roo in double figures. Kendall Heitmeier scored eight points off the bench.

The 'Roos wrap up the Key Largo Classic in the title game today against Keene State at 5:00 p.m. local time.
