Bio
Brandon Johnson enters his third season at the helm of the Austin College softball program and is coming off of a record breaking year for the Roos Softball Program. During the 2024 softball season, the Roos softball team broke 26 individual and team records, including most regular season wins in a season (18) and guided the Roos softball team back to the playoffs for the first time since 2015.
Johnson, a native Texan, founded and coached the Texas Titans softball program and during his time helped guide 33 players to the collegiate ranks. Prior to that, he founded the North Texas Prospects Baseball Organization, with 17 of the prospects he coached reaching the collegiate level and three making it to the MLB.
Through his time coaching both softball and baseball, Johnson has developed expertise in game management and talent development, working with players at every position and helping enable them to achieve outstanding success both on and off the field. A standout baseball player himself, Johnson committed to Cal State Fullerton and eventually was offered a contract by the Kansas City Royals.
Johnson believes that his number one goal is to create an atmosphere and a culture that empowers his players to not only succeed but to also learn the finer points of the game as well. Described as a “players coach”, Johnson believes in building strong, lasting relationships with his players and earning the right to speak into their lives, not only on the softball field but in life as well. Coach Johnson believes that it is his calling to work with young athletes and help to guide them towards whatever goal or dream they have in life after softball.
Johnson has been married to his best friend Jessica since high school, and the couple have a daughter named Breanna. They enjoy serving at their church, watching movies, attending Broadway musicals and rooting for the Texas A&M Aggies. Coach Johnson is also a very passionate Dallas Cowboys hater!!!
