Trinity Tops 'Roos in SCAC Series Finale
SHERMAN, Texas - The Austin College softball team dropped its final game of the first Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference series of the year for the 'Roos, falling 15-0 to visiting Trinity University through a series of defensive miscues from Austin College and a no-hitter by the Tigers. The 'Roos are now 0-11 overall and 0-3 in conference play.

The 'Roos are now 0-11 overall and 0-3 in conference play.
The Tigers jumped out to an early 8-0 lead in the top of the first, as Trinity's Samantha Tagawa reached on a double, advanced on a passed ball, and then scored on a wild pitch for the first run of the game and two more wild pitches and a pair of errors opened the door for the big first inning. The Tigers added a run in the second to make it a 9-0 game, and two more wild pitches and a pair of errors in the third enabled Trinity to push five more runs across to make it 14-0. The Tigers picked up their final run of the game in the top of the fifth on the sixth fielding error of the game for the 'Roos to make it 15-0, and the game ended after five complete innings via the mercy rule.
Austin College was limited to two baserunners in the loss, with Reagan Brinkley reaching on an error and Ashlynn Brothers getting aboard via a walk, with both of those runners getting on in the bottom of the second. Brinkley took the loss for Austin College, surrendering 14 runs, eight earned, on eight hits with three walks issued in 2.2 innings of work. Megan Kreichbaum tossed five-inning no-hitter for the Tigers, striking out seven batters in the game. Hannah Boudreaux as 3-for-3 with two RBI to lead Trinity at the plate.
Austin College is back in action on Saturday when they travel to Marshall to take on the nation's No. 1-ranked team, East Texas Baptist, in a non-conference doubleheader.
