Three From 'Roo Softball Earn Academic All-District

SHERMAN, Texas - Austin College softball players Carrie Johnson, Hannah King, and Hailie Swiatkowski have been selected as Academic All-District picks for their outstanding performances both athletically and academically during the 2023-24 season.

The 2023-24 Academic All-District Softball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the diamond and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

Johnson, a senior from Sherman, earned Academic All-District recognition by virtue of a 3.71 grade-point-average with a double major in English and media studies, as well as earning All-Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference accolades this season.

King, a junior from Midlothian, was named Academic All-District thanks to a 3.57 grade-point-average with a major in business finance, and was also an All-SCAC performer in her debut season with the 'Roos.

Swiatkowski, a junior from Mundelien, Ill., earned Academic All-Distict on the strength of a 3.63 grade-point-average with a major in mathematics, and like Johnson and King, was also named an All-SCAC performer during the 2024 campaign. 
 
Academic All-District honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. First-, second and third-team Academic All-America honorees will be announced June 18. 
 
The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2022-23 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs. The NAIA CSC Academic All-America program is partially financially supported through the NAIA governance structure.
