LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - Austin College's Kaitlyn Barrett has been named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Softball Hitter of the Week, the league office has announced.

Barrett, a freshman catcher and infielder from Franktown, Colo., had a monster week at the plate for Austin College, batting .429 (6-for-14) with four home runs, eight RBI, and four runs scored in five games. She had a .529 on-base percentage and a 1.286 slugging percentage, and hit .500 with three homers and six RBI, boasting a 1.625 slugging percentage in three SCAC games. She is currently batting .330 and ranks third in the conference with six home runs and is eighth with a .574 slugging percentage this season. Barrett's 25 runs batted in rank seventh in the conference, and she also has five doubles and has scored 19 runs this year.
