Men's Tennis Falls to Southwestern in SCAC Tournament
SHERMAN, Texas - The Austin College men's tennis team saw its season come to a close on Friday, as the No. 7-seeded 'Roos were bested 5-0 by No. 2-seed Southwestern in the opening round of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament at the Russell Tennis Center.
SHERMAN, Texas - The Austin College men's tennis team saw its season come to a close on Friday, as the No. 7-seeded 'Roos were bested 5-0 by No. 2-seed Southwestern in the opening round of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament at the Russell Tennis Center.
Austin College fell 8-3 at line one doubles and 8-0 on line two to open up the match, with the team of Trey Salyer and Luke Henley falling on the first line while Joel Colunga and Zeneth Mata dropped the flight two match. Southwestern picked up the line three doubles victory by default.
The Pirates picked up their fourth match victory on line six in singles competition by default, and Southwestern clinched the match and advanced to the SCAC semifinals with line one victory, as Salyer fell by scores of 0-6, 1-6. Austin College finishes its season with an overall record of 1-11.
