Trinity Bests 'Roo Tennis

SAN ANTONIO, Texas - The Austin College men's and women's tennis teams fell by scores of 9-0 at nationally ranked Trinity University, as the 'Roos took on the Tigers in a Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference road match on Sunday morning.

The 'Roo women dropped each of their doubles matches by scores of 8-0, with Maya Leisey and Sierra Thomas falling on line one while Tara Tran and Karina Alvarez competed on line two. The women were blanked in singles action, with each match finishing with scores of 0-6, 0-6. Leisey competed on line one, with Thomas playing flight two singles, and Tran, Alvarez, and Cynthia Zapata played on lines three through five, respectively. Trinity took line three doubles and line six singles by default.

On the men's side, Tate Nelson and Luke Henley dropped an 8-1 line one match, and AJ Wueste and Neel Gautam fell 8-0 playing on line two. In singles competition, Nelson fell 1-6, 1-6 on line one, with Wueste dropping a 1-6, 0-6 line two match. Gautam fell 0-6, 2-6 on line three, while Henley came up short in a 4-6, 1-6 line four match. Yudai Abe was topped 1-6, 1-6 playing on line five, while the 'Roos defaulted on line three in doubles and line six in singles action.

The 'Roos are back on the road for another SCAC match on April 15, when they head to Kerrville to take on Schreiner University
