Austin College Tennis Tops Dallas

SHERMAN, Texas - The Austin College men's and women's tennis teams rolled to a pair of SCAC victories over the University of Dallas on Saturday, with the women taking an 8-1 win while the men won 7-2.

Trey Salyer and Tate Nelson got things started with an 8-2 win at line one singles on the men's side, with Luke Henley and Yudai Abe taking line three 8-0. AJ Wueste and Neel Gautam dropped their line two match 4-8.

Salyer fell 1-6, 1-6 playing flight one singles, but Nelson picked up a 6-2, 4-6, 7-5 win playing number two while Wueste won at line three 6-0, 5-7, 6-1. Gautam took a 6-1, 6-0 win on line four, while Henley won 6-0, 6-3 on line five and Ayman Khan picked up a 6-1, 6-0 line six victory.

On the women's side, Kylie Imperial and Bailey Standokes won 8-0 at line one doubles and Maya Leisey and Tara Tran won 8-3 on line two, and the team of Karina Alvarez and Sierra Thomas got a win on line three by default.

The 'Roos got another victory by default on line six in singles action, while Imperial won 6-1, 6-0 playing line one and Leisey won 6-3, 6-2 on line two. Thomas gave Austin College a 6-0, 6-4 win playing number three, and Standokes was dominant in a 6-0, 6-0 line four win. Dallas earned their lone win of the match with a 2-6, 2-6 line five victory over Tran.
