'Roo Tennis Falls to LeTourneau

SHERMAN, Texas - The Austin College men's and women's tennis teams dropped their matches against LeTourneau University on Friday, with the women falling 6-3 while the men were handed an 8-1 defeat.

Tate Nelson delivered a singles victory on line three for the men, earning a hard-fought 4-6, 6-1, 14-12 win. Nelson and Trey Salyer dropped an 8-2 match at line one doubles, while Luke Henley and William Dixon fell 8-0 at line two and AJ Wueste and Storm Simonin lost 8-1 at flight three. In other singles action, Henley fell 2-6, 1-6 at line one, and Salyer lost 1-6, 2-6 at line two. Dixon dropped a 0-6, 1-6 line four match, Simonin lost 0-6, 2-6 at line five, and Yudai Abe lost 0-6, 0-6 on line six.

The 'Roo women picked up two wins by default at line three doubles and line six singles, and Gigi Francis picked up a 7-5, 6-3 win playing flight one singles. Francis and Kylie Imperial lost 8-2 on line one doubles, and Bailey Standokes and Sierra Thomas dropped an 8-1 match at line two. Imperial fell 2-6, 0-6 at line two singles, and Standokes lost 1-6, 0-6 playing on line three. Thomas fell 1-6, 6-3, 7-10 in line four action, while Tara Tran lost a 2-6, 1-6 line five match.
