Colorado Mesa Tops Men's Tennis

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The Austin College men's tennis team dropped a 7-0 decision in a neutral site match against Colorado Mesa on Saturday, bringing the 'Roos to 3-6 overall on the year.

The 'Roos dropped each of their three doubles matches, with the duo of Brett O'Brien and Preston Spivey falling 6-1 on line one, while Calum Robe and Tate Nelson battled but fell short in a 7-5 defeat on line two. Joseph Carrillo and William Dixon dropped their line three match by a final of 6-1.

In singles competition, O'Brien fell 0-6, 2-6 on line one while Spivey fought hard but came up on the wrong side of a 2-6, 6-4, 7-10 decision at flight two. Carrillo dropped a 6-0, 6-1 line three match, while Nelson fell by scores of 3-6, 0-6 at line four. Matthew Cochran and Dixon were defeated at lines five and six, respectively, by scores of 0-6, 2-6 and 0-6, 1-6.
