'Roo Men Coast to 7-2 Win

SHERMAN, Texas - The Austin College men's tennis team dropped two of three doubles matches but picked up all six points in singles competition to top Mary Hardin-Baylor 7-2 on Saturday morning. The win brings Austin College's overall record to 3-2 on the year.

The team of Brett O'Brien and Preston Spivey notched the lone doubles win playing on line one, coming away with an 8-5 victory, while Joseph Carrillo and Matthew Cochran and Storm Simonin and William Dixon each fell by scores of 5-8 on lines two and three, respectively.

In singles action, O'Brien continued his strong season with a 6-0, 6-1 win playing on line one, while Spivey picked up a 6-2, 6-2 win on line two. Carrillo gave the 'Roos a line three win by scores of 6-4, 6-2, and Cochran won 6-4, 6-2 playing at number four. Simonin won his line five match 6-2, 6-4, and Dixon won by default at line six.
