Kangaroo Men's Tennis defeats Ozarks 9-0
Men go 3-1 on the weekend, 6-3 on the season with victory
SHERMAN, Tex. - Men's Tennis closed the weekend with a decisive 9-0 victory over the Eagles from the University of the Ozarks.
AC struggled early in doubles, falling behind 1-0 at Line 1 and 3-0 at Line 2, but managed to right the ship and record a 3-0 sweep before moving to Singles Competition.
Pieter Jon Cabato would record the first victory in singles for the Kangaroos, winning the first set 7-5 before his opponent retired. Kenneth Hardy slammed the door shut on any comeback by winning 6-1, 6-2 at Line 2 Singles.
Granberry extended the lead to 6-0 with a 1 & 1 victory at Line 1, with Fortune cruising to a 6-2, 6-2 victory at Line 6.
Preston Glasscock was tested against a tough Eagle opponent at Line 3, but prevailed 6-3, 7-5, and while Jeff Kubena dropped a tough first set 5-7, he came back to win at Line 5 for the 'Roos 10-6 in a super tiebreaker for the unblemished victory.
Austin College's next match will be on Friday, March 24th at home against the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. First ball is expected to be hit at 5:30pm
