Majors Defeat Kangaroo Men 6-3 in Tyler

TYLER, Tex. - The Kangaroo Men's Tennis Team fell 6-3 to the Millsaps College Majors in their final competition of what was a victorious weekend.

Coming off impressive 9-0 and 7-2 victories at Centenary and East Texas Baptist, the 'Roos were beaten to the net against the aggressive Majors, with Hardy and Kortikere coming closest to notching a victory at 6-8.

But the 'Roos would make a competitive match out of the day, splitting singles 50/50 with their Southern Athletic Association opponent.  Kenneth Hardy took the first victory for the Men's Team, fighting to a 3-set victory at Line 2 6-3, 3-6, 6-4.

Erik Meendsen was close to forcing a third set, grinding his way deep into a second set tiebreaker, falling 6-3, 7-6 (11-9) to clinch the match for Millsaps.

Siddharth Kortikere continued his unblemished streak at Line 4 Singles in his first Spring 2017 season, falling 5-7 in the first set, but winning a tiebreaker in the 2nd 7-5 to force a third set super tiebreaker.  Kortikere would get out to a big early lead and close 10-5 for his third win of the weekend.

After a move from Line 5 to Line 6, Pieter Cabato collected the final victory on the day for the 'Roos 6-4, 6-3.
