'Roo Men's Tennis Goes 1-2 at SCAC Championship

The Austin College men's tennis team went 1-2 at the SCAC Championship this weekend, topping Centenary before falling to eventual champion Trinity and Southwestern.

The 'Roos opened with a 7-2 victory over Centenary on Saturday morning, winning two out of three doubles matches and five of six singles matches. James Taylor won at number two singles by scores of 5-7, 6-2, 6-3 and teamed with Jack Kunde to win 8-2 at number two doubles. Kunde cruised to a 6-1, 6-0 victory at number three singles. The team of Akshay Shetty and Zach Bomar picked up an 8-0 win at number three doubles.

Austin College fell 9-0 on Saturday afternoon against eventual champion Trinity University.

The 'Roos fell 5-3 to Southwestern on Sunday, getting a 2-6, 6-1, 6-4 win by Tyler Roush at number one singles while Roush and David Smith won 8-6 at number one doubles and Taylor and Kunde won 8-1 at number two doubles.
